You can walk on our roofs barefoot!
The following pictures were taken on August 20, 1999. It was a 92
degree day in Tennessee. We sealed and coated a portion of the metal roof
in the pictures this year. The uncoated portion of the roof was so hot it
exceeded our thermometer's capability, which only goes up to 122 degrees, in a matter of
seconds. Most metal roofs get up to 150-160 degrees on a day like this.
The person in the picture was able to comfortably sit on the coated portion
of the roof while cooking an egg on the uncoated portion. As a matter of
fact, she asked for her shoes back after a while because her feet were getting
cold. She would not have been able to even step on the uncoated metal without
suffering a burn.
